How Do You Deal With Improper Content Requirements?

We all are aware of how a few clients share improper requirements, isn't it?

When we started working on content writing services work, we got a few orders. Being a new content agency, We were focusing on providing the best content that we can deliver.

The orders came through our content portal and our team was going through them. One of the order had no proper requirements and even the contact number they provided was not working.

Our team tried calling them for a few times but the number was not getting connected. They only put the Title of content and some keywords and other than that there was nothing else to follow.

For a content writer, it is very much important to know all the details that the client wants. Without proper details, the content can never be tailor-made. We send an email to the owner as we had a policy to deliver the work within 48 hours and without guidelines, it can never happen.

After waiting for a day, we were sure that the client is not much active even on their email. And, as they have already paid, it is our duty to complete the work as soon as possible with the best quality possible.

What would you have done in this situation?

Would you just cancel a content order just because it does not have enough requirements?

We did.

Yes, we cancelled the order and refunded the amount back to the owner's account. You might be looking for a valid reason for doing that and we do have the reason to share with you.

We just started taking content orders at that time ad it was among our first few orders. If we would have delivered it in a wrong manner that our branding might have got a big hit. Instead of just completing orders we want to complete them with all our skills.

What is the benefit in writing content that has no end goal and doesn't have enough motive for it?

After getting his refund, the client emailed us and praised the deed that we did. He actually forgot to mention the project details and was happy to see that a content agency is actually working hard to provide value to their users.

No matter how many clients you have but you should always work on providing value. Just because we showed them that we work for value and not for money, he referred us to two of his known people. If we would have provided him the content then the order might not have gone forward as it would have been a content with no motive at all.

Please do share your experience in the comments below and let us know what other agencies would be doing in this situation.
